ReLeaf Alternative, a family-owned cannabis company based in Massachusetts, operates adult-use recreational dispensary locations in Mansfield and Natick. CAC has worked closely with ReLeaf, delivering a number of conceptual designs and applications, and collaborating with the Owners to develop construction plans for both of their current locations.

In Mansfield, the dispensary was designed by combining two separate tenant spaces – a former frozen yogurt shop and a hair salon. This presented a unique challenge as the tenant area is situated in the center of a shopping center building with atypical angles, requiring careful consideration of customer flow and egress. The Owner had a vision for Art Deco-inspired interiors, and we assisted to ensure code and regulatory compliance were maintained through the design-build construction process with Vantage Builders to bring the vision to life.

For their upcoming location in Natick, currently being constructed by Desco Builders, our team collaborated with ESI Engineering, the Owner, and the construction team to create comprehensive construction drawings for rehabbing a former Papa Gino’s pizza restaurant. This facility is strategically situated along Route 9, nestled almost exactly halfway between Wellesley and Framingham in the heart of the Natick commercial district. Since the building had been empty for quite some time, extensive repairs and replacements were needed to prepare it for the new commercial use. The interior design will incorporate some of the Art Deco opulence and Turn of the Century detailing used in the first location, complemented by touches of modern influence and some surprising new additions when this facility wraps up construction later this year.
